Index of past Babette's Gift Themes:

July on line:

The Pacific Northwest is a region of the used bookstore. On their creaking shelves books live on and on and are never remaindered. Each store has its own odd atmosphere, dust, and collection of books that will never be sold. Write about your favorite used bookstore.

June on line:

"Dorothy Parker in her poem Resume said: "You might as well live." Boris Pasternak in Doctor Zhivago said "To live life to the end is not a childish task." So, we ask you, "why live?" A simple question.

Deadline: June 15th

April on-line:

Write about the poet and/or poem who/that turns you on, that lights your creative fires.

Deadline: April 15th
