"How Does Your Garden Grow" by Anne Fraser

How Does Your Garden Grow

I.

A thousand seeds

inventing themselves
differently -

how willingly
we tell the dream,

how willingly
we look to the stars
and believe.

II.

What is it
that she has planted,
how deep
the furrow

where she struggles
to sleep
so completely;

III.

And the ledge
where she untangles

the blue
of the sky from her hair -

and the rotation
of syllables.
