Listening...

Your air wisps
gently into my awareness
Your voice
Cultivating a harvest
sprouting life that
cries out my prayer,

A bathing word
surfaces to mold a name,
crystallizing wisdom layers,
teething an imprint of a man:

Mine eyes staring
into this form without a face.

Although born in Santa Fe, NM, Jamison A. Johnson has lived in the Pacific Northwest for most of his life. He has spent most of his childhood on the Oregon Coast. In high school his passion for writing began as an expression of his erupting creative force fueled by life's frustrations. After high school, he continued his creative journey by working for the school paper at a local community college, getting involved with the literary magazine, and studying music. He transferred to Western Oregon University, where he further studied music and received a BA in History. Although he originally planned to be a teacher, he decided to pursue creative projects in the arts instead. Now he resides in the greater Seattle area as a local poet and singer/songwriter musician working on various projects such as promoting his new band "Lise Nikkole."
