I used to imagine a graveyard deep inside of me. I thought that might be where I put all those feelings I was not allowed to voice. Little graves, some fresh, some old. At the worst of times, which are far fewer now, I am a grieving caretaker, and it is all I can do to keep my voice level, my tears at bay. I am only just learning how to let them go. I am not good at this, but I try. Someday, I am optimistic, they will pale to transparencies, and I will find my peace.
